Solar Pumps &
Heat Pumps
Recent geopolitical events exposed how global fossil fuel shocks drive up domestic utility bills.
For this (and other) reasons, the UK government has set a long-term goal for the UK to become
energy independent through home-grown renewables, nuclear power, and transitional North Sea
gas production.
The primary technologies promoted by the government to achieve this goal are solar panels and
heat pumps. The government is not just promoting these as standalone items, but as an integrated ecosystem
SOLAR
Solar PV (including plug-in solar panels) generates free, local electricity during daylight hours.
Home Batteries & EVs store excess solar power or cheap, overnight grid electricity
HEAT PUMPS
Heat Pumps (two types: air source and ground source) draw from this stored or cheap electricity to heat the home at a fraction of the carbon footprint of a gas boiler.
THERE ARE TWO ROUTES TO INSTALLATION:
1) Able to Pay or Finance
If you don't qualify for funding but are able to pay now is a great time to upgrade.
Solar panels have come down in price over the last decade & at the same time the technology has improved
Heat pump technology continues to improve & a universal £7,500 grant is available to everyone regardless of income
Finance options are available that allow you pay in affordable monthly installments (unlike some solar subscriptions services, you will own the solar panels).
This allows you to start saving on bills immediately.
Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss this further
2) Government Grants
To qualify for the Warm Homes: Local Grant in England, your home must be privately owned or rented and have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D, E, F, or G. You also need to meet one of three criteria: have a gross annual household income of £36,000 or less, receive means-tested benefits (like Universal Credit), or live in a designated deprived area
You can check if this available in your area and Apply directly via the government website here: https://www.gov.uk/apply-warm-homes-local-grant
However, in some areas we can do the referral for you directly to the council approved installer (currently Birmingham, more areas to be added soon).
