LIVE FUNDING

The legacy 'Eco' schemes are in the process of being replaced. Current funding is limited to the schemes detailed below.

1) Warm Homes Local Grant

This is the first grant available under the governments overarching Warm Homes Plan.

The grant aims to provide free home energy improvements to eligible low‑income households. Improvements available include Home Insulation & Draught-Proofing, Low-Carbon Heating Systems & Renewable Energy & Smart Technology.

To qualify for the Warm Homes: Local Grant in England, your home must be privately owned or rented and have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D, E, F, or G. You also need to meet one of three criteria: have a gross annual household income of £36,000 or less, receive means-tested benefits (like Universal Credit), or live in a designated deprived area.

You can check if this available in your area & apply directly via the government website here:

https://www.gov.uk/apply-warm-homes-local-grant

However, in some areas we can do the referral for you directly to the council approved installer (currently Birmingham, more areas to be added soon).

Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss this further

2) Other Schemes (Ending Soon)

There are two other schemes with funding remaining:

Eco 4 – Limited extension – Ends in December 2026

The Eco 4 is a scheme which focuses on improving the least energy efficient homes and households in fuel poverty.

To qualify, at least one person in the household must be receiving income related benefits and the property must have an energy efficiency rating of D or below.

Multiple measures available such as insulation, renewable heating, upgraded controls & boiler upgrades.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) – Ends in December 2027

To qualify you must be a homeowner or landlord & must be replacing a fossil fuel heating system - such as oil, gas, electric or LPG.

Only available in England/Wales & not available for most new build and social housing

The BUS is a universal grant. It is open to all homeowners, private landlords, and business owners in England and Wales, regardless of income or employment status.

To qualify, the property needs have an energy rating of D or less

Exclusions:

  • You cannot use the grant if you are already using a low-carbon heating system (such as an older heat pump).
  • No Hybrids: The grant only covers a total transition; hybrid systems (e.g., keeping a gas boiler to work alongside a new heat pump) are strictly ineligible.
  • Biomass Exception: Biomass boilers are only eligible if your property is in a rural area and not connected to the gas grid
